Nashville has about 4 more seconds of totality than Corvallis.  I'm just saying . . .
Assuming we can see it through the clouds.
Missouri gets about 40 seconds more.

Hello HHCers,

Most of the critical decisions for HHC 2016 have been made and now it is
time to execute the plan.

Some attendees and Committee members have noted that there is a total
eclipse next year in August.  For the details see:

http://www.eclipse2017.org/2017/path_through_the_US.htm

The weekend before the conference (August 19 & 20) looks like a suitable
AUGUST date and two cities have been used before - Corvallis and Nashville.

I am just mentioning this for those who are prone to long term planning.
Jim Donnelly, from Corvallis, will be attending and I know he has the
equipment - I have seen photos - that is suitable to view (project) the
eclipse.

Food for thought (now), and discussion at the Conference (later)..

X <> Y

Richard

Hi Richard and all,

If you want to plan an early HHC on or near the eclipse path, it will
be necessary to act right away, as I've heard many (if not all)
hotels along the path are already booked up.

I'm guessing Corvallis is more likely to have decent weather for the
eclipse, as the midwest is pretty iffy on the weather.

I agree with Roger. I consider Nashville to be in a southern state rather
than the midwest even though the longitude is in the range. August weather
there could be rather hot and humid. On the other hand summers in Oregon
are generally dry. As I recall Jim Donnelly lives in Eugene, about 35 to 40
miles south of Corvallis, but close enough :-)

My home in Hillsboro, Missouri is exactly where totality for the longest
time is expected - 2:40.

Just throwing that out there, but I agree that we must act fast to reserve
hotel rooms for that date.

Sincerely,
Bill

I feel like I'm missing something. Is there a schedule for this?  I haven't
seen an itinerary, though I vaguely remember something about it.  Can
someone provide a link?

Thanks,
Brad
