Let's see.... under present leadership, HP spun off Agilent. What a =
wonderful opportunity for investors... to ride it down from 140 down to =
14! Imagine, 90% of your wealth gone. I hope YOUR retirement money =
wasn't in that!
On the other hand, investors loyal to HP who stuck it out saw their =
stock price plunge from 75 down to 12. That is somewhat better =
performance than Agilent. Only 87% of your retirement money would be =
gone. Of course, you would still have a profit in shares you bought =
more than 8 years ago. Think of it this way: you just got 8 years =
younger thanks to HP's wise management, as it will be an additional 8 =
years before you can retire. Uh-oh... you are laid off now and can't =
earn that money again?
And during this time, HP calculators have vanished from dealer's =
shelves. Hmmm... I have no idea why that would happen.=20
Obviously, the solution is an aggressive new sales and marketing =
activity for the inferior products that will be made for low cost in =
China by political prisoners in the forced labor camps. Just paint the =
old junk with fancy new words. And strip out any capability that might =
frighten the luddite educational establishment.
They should consider removing the square root button so that students =
can learn the algebraic method of extracting roots.
