In principle it should be possible to run it faster. On a typical
current PC, it could probably run at well over 100x. However, I
deliberately wrote it to run at approximately the same speed as the
real calculator, because the calculator firmware uses timing loops
to debounce the keyboard. Simply taking out the timing restriction
makes it unusable.
Making Nonpareil smart enough to detect the keyboard debouncing
routines and adding a "turbo" mode is on my TODO list, but I doubt
that it will happen very soon.
